As work continues on magical new premises in Rotherham, Grimm & Co are planning ways in which they can continue to provide face-to-face writing activities to children and young people.
As part of the planning, the literacy charity is looking to recruit new staff to help deliver sessions within schools and also lead on out-of-school provision.
Grimm & Co is a registered charity and its core purpose is to change lives one story at a time. It supports under-resourced children and young people aged 7 to 18 with their confidence and skills around creativity and writing.
Two drama specialists are being sought for the creative learning coordinator roles. The job advert, which has a closing date of October 6, reads: “Grimm & Co’s story destination is looking for two enthusiastic, experienced Creative Learning Coordinators (part-time) to help us deliver our programme in schools. You will play a key role in developing and facilitating a fun, engaging range of literacy exploration, with writing, reading and creativity at their heart.”
The staff will support the charity’s “Chapter & Verse” project on local primary schools.
In addition, the new Creative Learning Manager will oversee, develop and deliver an inspiring learning programme for Grimm & Co’s out-of-school provision. The full-time role will lead a team of artists, staff and volunteers and develop and deliver bespoke workshops designed to rebuild children and young people’s confidence and self-esteem, develop resilience and emotional wellbeing, and nurture aspirations, all through the power of writing, stories, and imagination.
The deadline for applicants for the creative learning manager role is October 19.
