More than 100 South Yorkshire families have been treated to two magical evenings of festive fun at Gulliver’s Valley Theme Park Resort.
The Rotherham theme park resort invited South Yorkshire’s Community Foundation (SYCF) and the charities and organisations they work with to the fun-filled evenings of Christmas celebration.
Each evening, 250 guests enjoyed the park’s rides and attractions and experienced the Winter Wonderland, where children received a gift from Santa. The memorable nights finished with a meal and show in the park’s theatre.
Gulliver’s Valley asked SYCF to help distribute the 500 tickets across the extensive network of community groups they fund.
With a focus on supporting and building strong, resilient communities across the region, SYCF is South Yorkshire’s biggest funder. They invest in change-making groups by distributing grants, delivering training and sharing advice – acting as a catalyst for positive change.
Liz Bailey, philanthropy coordinator at SYCF, said: “We want to say a huge thank you to Gulliver’s Valley for the events they hosted for some of the groups we support.
“We invited groups supporting families who have been through particularly tough times in the last couple of years. Across the two evenings, 105 families from 17 community organisations attended.
“The wonderful feedback we have received has blown us away! The team at Gulliver’s made everyone feel so special and I’m sure the evenings will live long in the memories of the children and families who were there.”
Julie Dalton, managing director of Gulliver’s Theme Park Resorts, said: “It was such a pleasure to welcome so many families to Gulliver’s Valley for two magical evenings.
“SYCF supports organisations doing vital work with families in the region and we were so pleased to be able to provide some festive fun before Christmas.”
