Generous guests at Gulliver’s Valley have dug deep to donate about 8,000 food items to support a local foodbank.
The donation has seen Gulliver’s Valley deliver 12 car loads of goods to charity The Trussell Trust, which supports a nationwide network of foodbanks, including in South Yorkshire.
Gulliver’s Valley hosted two Foodbank Weekends in October in aid of The Trussell Trust, offering reduced price theme park tickets when guests donated one non-perishable food item per person. A similar promotion ran for the theme park resort’s Gully Tots sessions during the week.
The result is the impressive donation which will go towards supporting people who need a helping hand across the region.
Andy Flowers, resort manager at Gulliver’s Valley, said: “We’re so grateful to our kind-hearted guests for supporting our Foodbank Weekends and helping people in need.
“The Trussell Trust say more than 14 million people are living in poverty in the UK, including 4.5 million children.
“No one should be going hungry and Gulliver’s Valley is passionate about partnering with The Trussell Trust to support the vital work they do in South Yorkshire and across the country. Gulliver’s Valley and our guests are proud to do whatever we can to help.”
