Organisers of the Wentworth Festival should be opening the doors to revellers at the magnificent setting of Wentworth Woodhouse in Rotherham…

In its fourth year, the festival was due to have over 40 acts performing in one amazing day across four stages, all held in the grounds of the largest stately home in Europe.

With a heavy heart the organisers had to postpone the festival until June 5 2021 due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

To mark the weekend when the festival was due to take place, the organisers have put together a 90-minute special to be shown live online on June 6. It promises special performances from Wentworth Festival friends past and present, and even one or two surprise acts.

Confirmed artists include 2019 headline act, Tony Hadley and songwriter for the stars, Eliot Kennedy.

Wentworth Music Festival was born in the beer garden of The Horseshoe in Harley where local residents Toby Foster and Steve White decided they’d love to put on a day of music and comedy for the people of Rotherham (and beyond) to come and enjoy.

The team posted on social media this week: “Genuinely mixed feelings for us… Tonight we’d have been heading home after three days setting up, looking forward to an incredible day tomorrow! Gutted we’re not doing that!

“On the other hand, we completely understand why we can’t do it this year… It also makes us even more excited for this time next year!”
